Prayer 4-1-13 Journey Through Lent

My Most Amazing God,
For the umpteenth time, where do I begin??? Thank You... Thank you for my first ever journey through Lent... Thank You because for the first time in my entire life I can say, beyond any doubt, that I get it... I am forever and ever and ever changed by this 40 day journey I just took... After Ash Wednesday, I learned that the word Hallelujah would not be used in any services until Easter Sunday, because that is the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead..."Hallelujah, He is risen!" I have done a lot of crying on this 40 day journey... I have sobbed for the loss of people I know and hold dearly to my heart... I cried for days over Melanie, and then Derek.. I cried because the story of Jesus telling the thief on the cross that He will be with Him in Paradise was in nearly every service and it is that story that has been offered to me by anybody who knows anything about the Bible when dealing with the uncertainty of where my dad is... I can not hear or see the verse without crying... like right this second.. My gift to You for Lent was not to give anything up, but diligently pursue a closer walk with You.. I did that Lord and You smiled so much at me that my four year old heart is still overwhelmed with the mercy and grace You bestow on your children... As you well know, I have had no clue what-so-ever what my prayer and song would be this week... Yesterday afternoon You gave me the song... Yesterday we sang Hallelujah and praised Your name for the most amazing gift in the history of any life here on Earth... Hallelujah, He is risen... He went through that for me and the rest of the world... I am humbled beyond belief at that kind of love.. Lord, I pray that You will spread your blanket of protection over our troops, that You will touch our leaders of this great nation and this crazy awesome planet You have given us to take care of.. Lord, give us the strength we need to keep this The Land of the Free and The Home of the Brave... All of this I pray in Your Most Holy Name... AMEN...See More
